The honduran sail boat stranded between Kura Rondo and Willemstoren on the 13th of june 1983. The Telisa(Tilisa) beached because the crew supposedly “got their lighthouses mixed up”. The shipwreck lies 400 meters north of the Willemstoren Lighthouse. Several attempts to salvage the Tilisa were unsuccessful and gradually people began to take bits and pieces from the wrecked boat. Many parts of the Tilisa were sort of recycled. It is often the fate of the Bonaire’s shipwrecks.
BEST DIVE: We recommend to do a little walk north of the lighthouse until you reach a wreck onshore 200 meters away. You are halfway. Progress in the the sea in the north direction, stay at the depth of 9 meters. After 5 mn, you should find an anchor and a chain, follow the chain until you reach the Tilisa Del Mar.
